Setting up a Module Position

Setting up a moudle for your site is an easy and quick thing to do.

  1. In your joomla admin, go in Extensions > Module Manger and click on New to create a new module.module setup1
  2. You will see Select a Moudle Type: and then click on Custom HTML.module setup2
  3. Now your module is ready to be used. In the Custom output you can upload an image, wright a blog or post latest news whatever you desire to have in that module. You'll want to give the module a title so you have a refrence when looking for it in your module manager, you also have to option to have your tilte be shown or hidden as seen in above 
  4. You'll need to choose a module position for your module to be placed. The template comes with different positions for you to choose from, you can take a look at the avaliable Module Map to see which positions you have avaliable to you.

 

 

Module Background-Image

The Travertine template comes with the option to upload a background image into your module. Once you are in your module, you'll see to the right in the Basic Options you have Select a Background-Image as seen below.

To the right you will see the module with an uploaded background image and some Loren Ipsum.

(Note* you must have text in your module in order for the image to show.)

Menu Assignment

Once you module is ready to be published and you've have a module position selected, your going to need to assign that module to the proper place on your site.

As seen in the image above you have four Module Assignment to choose from.

  • On all pages: This will display the module on all pages throughout your site.
  • No pages: This will prevent you from being able to publish the module anywhere.
  • Only on the pages selected: This will allow you to publish the module in a particular part of your site by clicking on the areas you'd like to have it published.
  • On all pages except those selected: Same as the approch above just flipped.
